Lunges
EXECUTION
The bar should be positioned as far down the back as possible, with the hands slightly wider than shoulder width apart. (This enables the back to remain straight) Take one or two steps back to the lunging position.
Eccentric contraction: Breathe in. Lower the body slowly with control (2-4 seconds) ensuring that you step far enough to prevent the right knee from over shooting the right foot.
Concentric contraction: Breathe out. Step in a controlled Manner repeating the cycle with the left foot forward. Repeat until the desired number of repetitions are complete. Once the legs are straight and you are in a stable position step Forward.
